About the Author
Daisy L. Kone was trained as an architect at the University of Texas and holds a Master of Architecture degree. She started her career in the Design-Build industry for Jacobs Engineering working on the Austin, Texas, Lockheed-Martin campus and manufacturing facility. She worked in estimating, project management, and project feasibility for the Carlson Southeast Corporation, Tampa, Florida, where she became interested in turn-key projects and total project feasibility. After working on the Harn Museum project in Gainesville, Florida, Ms. Kone became a Professor in the M.E. Rinker School of Building Construction, College of Architecture, University of Florida. She is co-author of The Public Works Manual with Andres Duany and Stephen Mouzon, a collection of standards and street assemblies designed for mixed-use residential and commercial development projects. Ms. Kone lives in Houston, Texas.

Like a dry lecture.

This book is useful, if your planing on building a master planned community, or perhaps a larger-scale subdivision. The most informative information contained within its pages are related to market analysis and demand forecasting. The book tries to apply a scientific approach to development and would think it could appeal to institutional developers...I did not find it appealing.
