Direct information, some corruption issues

I rather like this book. In my goal to learn more advanced maths, this book has taken on subjects in a straight forward manner. Which is what I expected given the title. The exercises at the end of each chapter helps me to check my knowledge as I progress, even though some of the steps are sometimes implied and not shown (I'm assuming the book assumes I have greater knowledge than I actually have, which is understandable, again based on the title). I will, however, forewarn those using a regular kindle. This book views fine on my Kindle for PC program, but when viewing on my kindle (4th gen), the formulas, which appear to be stored as images to maintain their layout on the page, become corrupt and I find large sections unreadable due to being unable to follow the proofs.
